wake him not, wake him not !

he owes defeat to cruel fate ,

and longs to drown all desires

in fathomless deep.

may the burden of unbearable sighs vanish

and profound sleep come like black ink,

blotting out from memory's page

the mocking words of the past .

let the murmurs of his anguish be hushed,

and grow silent

like the quiet nest of sleeping birds.

எழுப்பாதே  !

அவனை  எழுப்பாதே  !

கொடும் விதி அவனைத் தோல்வி கண்டது ;

பாதாள  ஆழங்களில் தன் ஆசைகளை 

மூழ்கடித்திட அவன் விழைகிறான் .

தாங்கவொண்ணாப்  பெருமூச்சுகளின் 

சுமை   மறையட்டும் -

கரிய மை  போன்ற அடர் உறக்கம் 

அவனை   அணுகட்டும் -

நினைவின் பக்கங்களில் இருந்து 

கடந்த காலத்தின்  ஏளனப் பேச்சக்களை 

அது  ஒற்றி உறியட்டும்-

தூங்கும் பறவைகளின் அமைதியான கூட்டைப்போல   

அவனது   வேதனைகளின் முணுமுணுப்புகள்

ஒடுங்கி அமைதி வளரட்டும்  .
